Pervasive Communication: The Need for Distributed Context Adaptations
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper focuses on the effects of pervasive computing on today’s software technology. We present an existing software application for communication as a case study and establish a set of requirements this application should accomplish to become a pervasive computing application. We define what a pervasive communication is and identify the need for distributed context adaptation schemes.

A context-sensitive dynamic role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Resources and services are accessible in pervasive computing environments from anywhere and at any time. Also, due to ever-changing nature of such environments, the identity of users is unknown. However, users must be able to access the required resources based on their contexts. These and other similar complexities necessitate dynamic and context-aware access control models for such environmen...
متن کاملA self-healing distributed pervasive health system
In the context of pervasive healthcare systems there is a growing need of services that are constantly available to the patients accessing them. To address this issue, in this paper we present a distributed pervasive infrastructure that is capable of self-healing one or more of its parts when an external event causes a disruption of the service in the areas covered by the pervasive system. We u...
متن کاملA semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...
متن کاملSystem Architectures for Speech-based and Multimodal Pervasive Computing Applications
Speech-based and multimodal interaction can be very efficient and natural way for human-computer communication in pervasive computing settings. The key features in these settings are the distributed and adaptive nature of interaction. In order to implement applications efficiently the system architecture must support these features. In this paper we discuss the requirements for speech-based per...
متن کاملJabber-based Cross-Domain Efficient and Privacy- Ensuring Context Management Framework
in pervasive environments, context-aware applications require a global knowledge of the context information distributed in different spatial domains in order to establish context-based interactions. Therefore, the design of distributed storage, retrieval, and dissemination mechanisms of context information across domains becomes vital. In such environments, we envision the necessity of collabor...
